I’ve also been thinking about this blog. Lots of companies have blogs and generally they’re just treated as a ‘new’ way of getting product announcements out into the world. I don’t want to blog like that for two reasons. Firstly, oneblacksock is all about providing a tailored solution for your specific problem so product announcements probably won’t work. Secondly, I personally don’t think that it’s a good idea. I want this blog to reflect me; I’m the one you’re going to be dealing with for most of the time so the more you know about me the more informed your decision to work with me will be. Or not work with me, either way, it’s more likely to be the right choice.
So, I’m going to blog about the problems I’m facing (and overcoming), the new technologies I’m using and just generally put my opinion out there. I definitely believe this coding horror post sums up my view on blogging – I welcome comments, I welcome other opinions, I even welcome people who completely diagree with me; in fact, they may be right and I’ll be a better person for listening to them.
So, for the whole of this blog, comment away! And oh yea, read my about page.
